Eight Keys of Excellence
If you have visited our school this month, you have seen our building saturated with visual reminders of the 8 Keys of Excellence. These have been placed around the building and in every classroom to remind students about the positive behavior expectations we have for all our West Side Stars.
The eight keys are:

Picasso to Warhol: West Side's 2011-2012 Fine Arts Focus
West Side will partner with the High Museum of Art in Atlanta to allow our students expereince the 14 Modern Masters, Picasso to Warhol. Students will not only learn about these famous artists and their works through course integration, but will get to expereince it first hand during a field study to the High Museum on February 28th (elementary) and March 2nd (middle). Upcoming Events
Middle School Strings Concert and PTO Meeting: On February 23rd, our middle school strings students will present their mid-winter concert in conjunction with our PTO meeting at 6:00 in the gym. Please make plans to attend.
High Museum Field Trips: Elementary students will be visiting the High Museum of Art on Tuesday, February 28th. Middle School students will go on Friday, March 2nd.
Spring Pictures: Spring Pictures will be taken on February 29th.
Book Fair: The Spring Book Fair will be held in the gym March 5-8th! Please see the media center page for more information.
Parent Breakfasts: Tuesday, March 6th, West Side will host Muffins with Mom. Doughnuts with Dad will be held on on Thursday, March 8th. Both events will take place in the gym between 7 and 8 AM.
