Spring Book Fair!
The whole school is excited about our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair. An amazing selection of books is headed our way! At the Book Fair you will find the latest and finest titles for kids, as well as books of interest to parents. Come by and check out the Book Fair during Muffins with Mom (Tuesday, March 6th) or Doughnuts with Dad (Thursday, March 8th). You can contribute books to your child's classroom library by checking out our Teacher Wish Lists. The Book Fair is a great way to get everyone excited about reading. You can also make purchases online before and after the fair (March 2-12) and the books will be shipped for free to our school!
Accelerated Reader
As with last year, our AR focus will be on individual reading goals which will be set each 9 weeks. Students who meet their goals of both points and a percentage of correct answers of at least 85% will participate in grade level AR celebrations that could range from extra recess time to a magic show to an ice cream party. We will also have point clubs (with prizes) for our high achieving readers. These point clubs are:
Elementary Grades
50 points- Book
100 points- Canine Capers
200 points- Desktop Photo
300 points- Book Dedication
Middle Grades
100 points- Book
200 points- Canine Capers
300 points- Book Dedication
400 points- Ceiling Tile

Eligibilty for Honors Day Recognition
In order to be recognized for outstanding achievenment in reading at Honors Day celebrations, students must have 85% correct answers or above for the school year as well as meet the points requirement for their grade level by Friday, May 4th. 3rd grade must earn 100 points, 4th and 5th grade: 150 points and 6th-8th grade: 200 points.

Book Adventure is a FREE reading motivation program for children in grades K-8. Children create their own book lists from over 7,000 recommended titles, take multiple choice quizzes on the books they've read, and earn points and prizes for their literary successes.
